Instagram Plus: Meta Tests Premium Sub With Stealth Features

Meta is quietly rolling out a premium subscription called Instagram Plus in select markets. The company confirmed the test to TechCrunch.

The paid tier unlocks features that free users don't get. The headliners: anonymous Story viewing — letting you creep without leaving a trace — and 48-hour Story durations, doubling the standard 24-hour window.

Details remain thin. Meta hasn't disclosed pricing, the specific countries involved, or whether additional perks are bundled in. The test is still in early stages.

This isn't Meta's first crack at paid subscriptions. Meta Verified already exists as a premium offering across Instagram and Facebook. But Instagram Plus appears to target a different audience — users who want enhanced functionality rather than just a blue checkmark.
