Meta Building Prediction Markets App, Eyes Polymarket Partnership

Mark Zuckerberg has been pushing Meta executives to explore partnerships with prediction market platforms Polymarket and Kalshi. The move comes as the company builds its own prediction markets app called Arena.

The ambitions are massive. Arena is targeting 100 million monthly active users — or "predictors," as Meta apparently wants to call them. The demographic sweet spot: 18- to 34-year-olds.

Prediction markets have surged in popularity, letting users bet on outcomes ranging from politics to pop culture. Meta clearly sees an opening to bring that model to its enormous user base.

The dual strategy is notable. Rather than just building in-house, Zuckerberg wants to explore working with established players already operating in the space. Whether those partnerships materialize alongside Arena or feed into it remains to be seen.

One thing is clear: Meta wants a serious seat at the prediction markets table.
