Claude Now Works Across Your Excel and PowerPoint Files
Anthropic upgrades its Microsoft 365 add-ins so Claude can share context across open files and run skills directly.
Anthropic just made its Claude AI a lot more useful inside Microsoft's office apps. The company announced that Claude for Excel and Claude for PowerPoint now share full context across all open files simultaneously.
That means Claude can reference data from one spreadsheet while working in another — or pull insights from a presentation while you're crunching numbers. Previously, the add-ins operated in isolation.
Skills — Anthropic's pre-built AI capabilities — are also now accessible directly within the Excel and PowerPoint add-ins, giving users more powerful tools without leaving their workflow.
Anthropic doesn't have its own productivity suite to rival Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Instead, it's playing the integration game, embedding Claude deeper into the tools people already use. Smart move: meet users where they are rather than asking them to switch platforms.
