Anthropic just shoved an AI coworker into your Slack workspace. Claude Tag, now in beta, is an agentic AI assistant that lives natively inside Slack — learning context, surfacing suggestions, and operating as a persistent team member.
The kicker: each Slack channel gets its own isolated Claude identity. That means your engineering channel's Claude won't bleed context into your marketing channel's Claude. Separate brains, separate conversations.
The feature is rolling out to Claude Team and Enterprise tier subscribers. It's designed to be always-on, not just a bot you summon with a slash command. Think less chatbot, more digital colleague that actually pays attention to what's happening in the channel.
Anthropic is clearly betting that the future of workplace AI isn't a separate app — it's embedded directly where teams already communicate.
