X Finally Adds a Proper 'Paid Partnership' Label for Ads

X just shipped a feature that probably should have existed years ago. The platform now offers a formal "Paid Partnership" label that creators can slap on their posts to disclose when content is an advertisement.

Until now, creators on X had to rely on hashtags like #ad or #sponsored to signal paid deals. That approach was inconsistent, easy to bury, and left transparency largely up to individual creators' good faith.

The new label gives X a standardized, platform-native way to handle ad disclosure. It's a move that brings X closer to what competitors like Instagram and TikTok have offered for some time with their own built-in partnership tools.

No word yet on whether the label will be required for sponsored content or if it remains purely voluntary. For now, it's a creator-driven opt-in feature.
