Twitch rolls out Dual Format, a feature that lets creators stream horizontally and vertically simultaneously, and 2K streaming for partners and affiliates

Twitch just dropped a major upgrade for creators. The platform's new Dual Format feature lets streamers broadcast in both horizontal and vertical orientations at the same time. No more choosing between desktop viewers and mobile scrollers.

The announcement came at TwitchCon Rotterdam 2026, alongside a batch of other platform updates. Twitch also introduced 2K streaming support, available to both partners and affiliates — a meaningful bump in visual quality for a huge chunk of the creator base.

Dual Format is a direct play for the mobile-first audience that's increasingly consuming live content vertically. By letting creators serve both formats simultaneously, Twitch eliminates the friction of picking one layout over the other.

The 2K upgrade pushes Twitch's visual ceiling higher, giving qualifying streamers sharper output without needing to jump through extra hoops.
