Trump Phone Teardown: It's a Gold-Painted HTC U24 Pro

There's a Trump phone now. The Trump Mobile T1 exists, and iFixit did what iFixit does — tore it apart to see what's inside.

The verdict? It's essentially an HTC U24 Pro wearing a gold paint job. The internals are largely identical to HTC's existing hardware, though the teardown did reveal some notable component changes.

The most interesting swap: memory chips from Micron replace the SK Hynix modules found in the standard HTC U24 Pro. That's a shift toward a US-based semiconductor supplier, which tracks with the branding exercise this device clearly is.

Beyond the memory change and the gilded exterior, the T1 doesn't appear to deviate significantly from its HTC donor phone. No groundbreaking hardware innovations here — just a repackaged mid-range Android device dressed up for a very specific customer base.
