Anthropic Opens Fable 5 to Paid Plan Users With a Deadline
Anthropic's most powerful model hits paid plans now, but usage credits kick in after June 22.
Anthropic is rolling out Fable 5 — its most powerful AI model — to the general public for the first time. But there's a catch: access comes with strings attached.
The model is currently available on Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans through June 22. After that date, running Fable 5 will cost usage credits on top of existing plan fees.
So paid subscribers get included access for now, but the clock is ticking. Anthropic is clearly testing demand before flipping to a credit-based consumption model.
The rollout signals Anthropic's strategy of launching its heaviest models with guardrails firmly in place. No free-for-all here — just a controlled release across its premium tiers with a hard transition date baked in.
