Microsoft just dropped its most ambitious Surface yet. The Surface Laptop Ultra is the company's new flagship, and it's rocking Nvidia silicon instead of the usual suspects.

The machine sports an Nvidia RTX Spark SoC — a significant departure for the Surface line. It pairs that with a 15-inch mini-LED touchscreen and up to 128GB of unified memory. That's serious horsepower for a laptop bearing the Surface name.

This isn't Microsoft's first attempt at a high-end Surface play. The company has tried before to push its hardware into premium territory with mixed results. But the RTX Spark partnership with Nvidia signals a different approach — leaning hard into GPU muscle rather than conventional laptop chips.

The Surface Laptop Ultra is slated to arrive this fall. Pricing details haven't been announced yet.
