Google Meet's AI Notetaker Now Works on Zoom, Teams, and IRL
Google expands its Gemini-powered Take Notes for Me beyond Meet to rival platforms and in-person meetings.
Google just made its AI meeting scribe platform-agnostic. The Gemini-powered "Take Notes for Me" feature, previously locked to Google Meet, now works with Microsoft Teams and Zoom. It also handles in-person meetings — no video call required.
The expansion dropped alongside a broader wave of Workspace updates announced at Cloud Next 2026. Google rolled out new features across Drive, Sheets, Meet, and other Workspace apps, all falling under its growing "Workspace Intelligence" umbrella.
The cross-platform note-taking move is notable. Google is essentially saying its AI assistant shouldn't care what video app you're on. That's a direct play for enterprise users who live across multiple collaboration tools daily.
No word yet on pricing changes or whether the feature requires specific Workspace tier access. The in-person meeting support suggests microphone-based transcription without a traditional meeting link.
