Meta Prepping Ray-Ban Smart Glasses for Prescription Wearers

Meta is about to make its smart glasses play a lot more accessible. The company plans to unveil two new Ray-Ban smart glasses models next week, both designed specifically for prescription wearers, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

The move signals a strategic shift in distribution. Instead of pushing these through Meta's usual tech retail channels, the devices will be sold primarily through prescription eyewear retailers. That puts them directly where glasses wearers already shop.

It's a significant expansion for Meta's wearables ambitions. The existing Ray-Ban Meta glasses have been one of the company's quieter hardware wins, but they've largely been limited to people with perfect vision or those willing to wear them over contacts.
