Samsung Quick Share Now Talks to Apple AirDrop
Samsung adds AirDrop compatibility to Quick Share, starting with Galaxy S26 in South Korea.
Samsung just bridged one of the most annoying gaps in cross-platform file sharing. The company is rolling out Apple AirDrop support directly into its Quick Share feature, letting Galaxy users beam files to iPhones and vice versa without third-party workarounds.
The rollout kicks off this week with the Galaxy S26 series in South Korea. Samsung says it plans to expand compatibility to additional Galaxy devices and more regions down the line, though no specific timeline has been given for the broader rollout.
This is a notable move in the Android-iOS interoperability space. For years, seamless file transfers between Samsung and Apple devices required clunky alternatives. Baking AirDrop support natively into Quick Share eliminates that friction entirely — at least for Galaxy owners lucky enough to get it first.
South Korean S26 users are the guinea pigs. Everyone else gets to wait.
