Argentina Blocks Polymarket, Platform Now Dark in 30+ Countries

Polymarket just got slammed with a major legal blow in Argentina. A court ruled the prediction market platform never had proper approval to operate in the country and moved swiftly to cut it off.

The ruling orders Argentine internet service providers to block access to the site entirely. It also directs Apple and Google to remove or restrict Polymarket's mobile apps.

The damage extends well beyond Argentina's borders. Polymarket is now unavailable in more than 30 countries, marking a significant escalation in regulatory pressure on the crypto-adjacent betting platform.

This is the kind of coordinated crackdown — ISPs, app stores, courts all moving in unison — that prediction markets have long feared. Polymarket built massive traction as a go-to platform for real-money event betting, but operating in regulatory gray zones was always the gamble underneath the gambles.
