Binance Strikes Out on EU License, Vows to Try Again

Binance just hit a wall in Europe — and it's already planning its next run at it.
The world's largest crypto exchange confirmed its application for a MiCA license in Greece didn't make it past the June 30 deadline. That's a significant setback for a platform trying to cement its presence across the EU under the bloc's new crypto regulatory framework.
But Binance isn't packing its bags. The company says it intends to stay in the European Union and will launch a renewed effort to secure operating permission. No specifics yet on which jurisdiction it might target next or what timeline it's working with.
MiCA — the Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation — is the EU's landmark attempt to bring order to the crypto Wild West. Getting licensed under it is now table stakes for any exchange serious about serving European customers.
