Rozana Bags $31.6M to Bring E-Commerce to Rural India
Rural retail platform Rozana closes Series B to expand e-commerce and logistics across 21,000 Indian villages.
Rozana just locked down $31.6 million in Series B funding. Bertelsmann India Investments led the round for the rural omnichannel retail platform, which translates to roughly Rs 290 crore.
The company operates across a massive footprint — 21,000 villages across India — delivering e-commerce and logistics services to communities that big-city platforms largely ignore. That's a staggering addressable market in a country where rural populations still vastly outnumber urban ones.
Rural commerce in India remains one of the trickiest nuts to crack. Infrastructure gaps, fragmented supply chains, and last-mile delivery nightmares make it a capital-intensive play. Rozana is betting this fresh injection of cash can help it scale the logistics backbone needed to make the economics work.
Bertelsmann India's involvement signals serious institutional confidence in the rural e-commerce thesis.
