Xiaomi Storms Europe With Three Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Phones
Xiaomi drops three new flagships in Europe, topped by a €1,999 Leica-branded Leitzphone.
Xiaomi just unloaded a triple threat on the European market. The company launched three new smartphones — the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and the Leica-branded Leitzphone — all running Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
The lineup starts at €999 for the standard Xiaomi 17. Step up to €1,499 and you get the 17 Ultra, a bigger device built around serious camera capabilities. At the top sits the €1,999 Leitzphone, carrying Leica's premium branding for photographers who want the full experience.
All three share the same flagship silicon, so performance shouldn't differ much between them. The real differentiation is in the cameras and build. Xiaomi's clearly swinging hard at Samsung and Apple's European turf, with pricing that undercuts some competitors while pushing into true premium territory with the Leitzphone.
