Valve's Steam Machine Starts at $1,049, Orders Open June 29
Valve reveals pricing and launch details for its living room PC, with email-based purchasing kicking off at the end of June.
Valve has pulled back the curtain on its Steam Machine — the company's living room-oriented PC — with a starting price of $1,049 for the 512GB base model.
Don't expect to walk into a store and grab one, though. Valve is handling the rollout through an interest registration system. You can sign up starting now, and the first purchase invitation emails will go out on June 29.
The Steam Machine represents Valve's latest push to bridge the gap between PC gaming and the living room. At that price point, it slots in above most consoles but below many gaming desktop builds.
No word yet on higher-tier configurations or exact hardware specs beyond the base storage. For now, eager buyers have one move: register and wait for that email.
