Telegram Is Ground Zero for Job Scams, Revolut Data Shows

Telegram has a job scam problem — a massive one. Digital banking giant Revolut dropped some eye-opening numbers: a staggering 58% of all job scams reported to the company globally in 2025 started on the messaging platform.

That figure dwarfs every other platform by a wide margin. The finding comes from Revolut's analysis of more than 10 billion transactions, giving the data serious statistical weight.

The pattern is clear. Scammers use Telegram as their launchpad, luring victims with fake job offers before the fraud eventually hits their bank accounts. Revolut, which operates as a finance app serving millions of users worldwide, has been tracking where these scams originate.

For Telegram, the numbers paint an uncomfortable picture. The platform's relatively loose moderation has long made it attractive to bad actors — and job scammers appear to have made it their home turf.
