Nvidia and MediaTek Are Coming for Your Next Laptop

Nvidia is making a serious play for the PC market. Dell, Lenovo, and other major manufacturers are actively developing laptops built around an Arm-based system-on-a-chip designed jointly by Nvidia and MediaTek.

The new chips could land in shipping products as early as the first half of 2026. The pitch? Thinner, lighter machines that still deliver long battery life — the same formula that made Apple's M-series Macs a hit.

This is Nvidia muscling beyond its GPU and data center dominance into the heart of consumer computing. Partnering with MediaTek gives it a mobile chip partner with serious Arm expertise, while the PC OEMs get a potential alternative to Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite and Intel's latest offerings.

The laptop processor wars just got another heavyweight contender.
