Sony Pulls the Plug on Bluepoint Games, Axes ~70 Jobs

Bluepoint Games is done. Sony is shutting down the PlayStation subsidiary responsible for some of gaming's most celebrated remakes, including Demon's Souls and Uncharted.

Around 70 employees are losing their jobs as the studio closes its doors for good.

Bluepoint built its reputation as the gold standard for game remakes, breathing new life into classic titles with modern visuals and refined gameplay. Sony acquired the studio and folded it into its PlayStation family — only to now pull the plug entirely.

The closure adds to a growing wave of layoffs and studio shutdowns across the gaming industry. For the roughly 70 staffers now job-hunting, Bluepoint's legacy lives on in the games — even if the studio itself doesn't.
