GTA 6 Physical Copies Won't Include a Disc — Just a Code
Rockstar's physical GTA 6 boxes will contain a digital download code instead of a game disc.
Rockstar just confirmed that buying a physical copy of Grand Theft Auto 6 means you're essentially paying for a box with a download code inside. No disc. No tangible media. Just cardboard and a redemption key.
The physical editions will hit shelves on November 12, a full week before the game's official November 19 launch. That early release gives buyers time to download what will almost certainly be a massive file before launch day.
It's a bold move for one of the most anticipated game releases in history. Physical game sales have been declining for years, but ditching the disc entirely while still selling a physical product is a new level of commitment to digital distribution.
For collectors who want something on their shelf, Rockstar is happy to oblige. Just don't expect anything spinning inside.
