Google expands its Quick Share with AirDrop feature from the Pixel 10 to the entire Pixel 9 series.

Google Brings Quick Share-AirDrop Support to Pixel 9 Lineup

Google is rolling out Quick Share compatibility with Apple's AirDrop to four more devices: the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

The cross-platform file sharing feature originally debuted on the Pixel 10 back in November 2025. Now Google's pulling it back a generation, giving Pixel 9 owners the same seamless sharing capabilities with iPhone users.

That's a meaningful expansion. The Pixel 9 series represents a massive chunk of Google's active phone install base, and bridging the Android-iOS file transfer gap has been a persistent pain point for years.

No word yet on whether the feature will trickle down to older Pixel models or expand to other Android manufacturers. For now, Pixel 9 and 10 owners get to live in the cross-platform sharing future.
