iOS 26 Already Running on Two-Thirds of All iPhones
Apple reveals iOS 26 adoption rates that outpace last year's iOS 18 rollout numbers.
Apple just dropped fresh adoption numbers for iOS 26, and they're impressive. A full 74% of iPhones launched in the last four years are already running the latest software. Across all iPhones — including older models — that figure sits at 66%.
For context, iOS 18 had reached 68% of all iPhones as of January 21, 2025. So iOS 26 is already closing in on where its predecessor stood earlier this year, suggesting Apple's install base is upgrading faster than ever.
The company also shared iPadOS 26 adoption stats alongside the iPhone numbers, though specific iPad figures weren't highlighted.
These metrics matter for developers deciding which OS versions to support — and for Apple, they're a flex. High adoption rates mean faster rollout of new features and security patches across the ecosystem.
