YouTube is beefing up its podcast game. The platform just rolled out a suite of new features exclusively for Premium subscribers, headlined by an AI-powered recommendation engine designed to surface podcasts you'll actually want to hear.

The update also includes an "Auto speed" setting — likely adjusting playback pace based on content type or user habits — and a new on-the-go listening mode. That last one suggests a stripped-down interface optimized for when you're moving and don't need video hogging your screen or battery.

The moves signal YouTube's continued push to own the podcast space. Rather than competing on catalog alone, they're leveraging AI and Premium perks to differentiate. Spotify should be taking notes.
