Amazon Luna Guts Game Purchases and Third-Party Stores

Amazon's cloud gaming service is axing game purchases and dropping third-party storefronts and subscriptions entirely.

Amazon Luna is getting a major shake-up — and not the fun kind. The cloud gaming platform is killing off support for game purchases, third-party game stores, and external subscriptions. It's a significant rollback for a service that already struggled to find its footing in the crowded game-streaming space.

If you previously bought games on Luna, you're on the clock. Access to those purchased titles runs out on June 10. After that, they're gone.

The overhaul effectively strips Luna down to its bones. No more buying individual games. No more browsing third-party storefronts within the platform. Amazon is pulling the plug on the features that gave Luna at least some semblance of a competitive offering.

What exactly Luna looks like after this gutting remains to be seen. But for anyone who spent money on the platform, that June 10 deadline is the only date that matters right now.
