Nvidia announced that South Korean internet giant Naver will deploy its technology to build AI factories at what both companies describe as "gigawatt scale." The goal: meet surging worldwide demand for AI services and physical AI.
Naver, one of South Korea's largest internet conglomerates, is tapping Nvidia's platform to power the enormous compute infrastructure these facilities will require. Gigawatt-scale data centers represent a massive leap in energy consumption and processing capacity compared to today's typical facilities.
The partnership signals how hyperscale AI infrastructure is becoming a global race, with Asian tech giants now building out their own massive compute footprints rather than relying solely on U.S.-based cloud providers.
