Gemini Blows Past 900M Monthly Users, Gets a Fresh New Look
Google's AI assistant more than doubled its user base since I/O 2025 and scores a major design overhaul.
Google just dropped some staggering numbers for Gemini. The AI assistant now counts over 900 million monthly active users across 230 countries — more than doubling the 400 million figure reported at I/O 2025.
Alongside the growth milestone, Google unveiled Neural Expressive, a brand-new design language for Gemini. The revamp brings a more intuitive UI aimed at making the assistant feel less like a chatbot and more like a proactive companion.
New features include daily briefs that surface relevant information before you ask for it, plus Gemini Spark — an always-on agent designed to handle tasks around the clock.
The numbers are hard to ignore. Doubling your user base to nearly a billion while simultaneously shipping a UI overhaul and new agentic features signals Google is pushing Gemini hard as its flagship AI product.
