Samsung Cranks Spending to $73B in 2026, Up 22% YoY

Samsung is opening the wallet wide. The Korean electronics giant disclosed plans to spend more than 110 trillion won — roughly $73.3 billion — on capital expenditure and research in 2026. That's a significant leap from approximately $60 billion earmarked for 2025, representing a roughly 22% year-over-year increase.

The filing also revealed Samsung intends to distribute around $6.5 billion in regular dividends to shareholders.

The massive spending ramp signals Samsung is doubling down on its manufacturing and technology capabilities at a time when the semiconductor and electronics industries are locked in an arms race for next-generation chips and components. Whether it's advanced memory, foundry capacity, or display tech, Samsung clearly isn't planning to coast.

That's a lot of won being put to work.
