Standard Kernel Bags $20M Seed to Supercharge GPU Performance

Standard Kernel just landed a hefty $20 million seed round for its AI-powered GPU optimization software. Jump Capital led the deal, with General Catalyst among the other investors chipping in.

The startup is tackling a very real bottleneck in the AI boom: squeezing more performance out of GPU hardware through smarter software. Think of it as automating the AI hardware stack — making expensive silicon work harder so companies don't have to keep throwing money at more chips.

A $20 million seed is no small bet. It signals serious investor confidence that GPU optimization is becoming a critical layer in the AI infrastructure puzzle. As demand for compute continues to outstrip supply, startups that can make existing hardware go further are sitting in a very attractive spot.

Standard Kernel plans to use the funding to build out its optimization platform and scale operations.
