Lockheed Martin Dumps Anthropic AI Following Pentagon Ban
Defense giant Lockheed Martin will comply with DOD order to purge Anthropic's AI tools from operations.
Lockheed Martin is falling in line with the Pentagon's ban on Anthropic's AI products. The defense behemoth plans to strip out the company's tools, following a Department of Defense directive that's now rippling through the entire defense contracting world.
Government contracting attorneys say the move isn't optional. Defense contractors working with the DOD are expected to comply with the purge order — no exceptions.
The ban effectively cuts Anthropic off from one of the most lucrative sectors in tech: military and defense contracts. For a company positioning itself as a leader in AI safety and enterprise deployment, losing the Pentagon pipeline is a significant blow.
Lockheed Martin, trading under LMT.N, is the first major contractor publicly confirmed to follow through. Expect others to announce similar moves shortly.
