Apple Drops a $3,299 Studio Display XDR With Mini-LED Goodness
Apple refreshes its Studio Display lineup and adds a premium XDR model with 120Hz and 2,000 nits of peak brightness.
Apple just gave its monitor lineup a serious upgrade. The company refreshed its existing Studio Display, which still starts at $1,599, while unveiling the brand-new Studio Display XDR at a hefty $3,299 and up.
The XDR model is the headliner here. It packs a 27-inch 5K Retina XDR panel with a mini-LED backlight, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness. Apple is calling it "the world's best pro display" — bold words, but the spec sheet backs up the swagger.
The mini-LED backlight is the key differentiator, enabling the kind of contrast and HDR performance that creative professionals actually care about. At 27 inches and 5K resolution, pixel density remains razor-sharp.
For pros who've been eyeing Apple's Pro Display XDR but balking at the size and price, this lands in an interesting sweet spot.
