India's Ultrahuman launches its next-gen smart ring globally, but a patent loss to Oura keeps it out of America.

Ultrahuman Drops $479 Ring Pro — But Not in the US

Bengaluru-based wearable maker Ultrahuman just pulled the curtain off its Ring Pro, a $479 smart ring boasting longer battery life and a fresh design overhaul. Pre-orders are open globally starting now.

There's one glaring omission on the availability map: the United States. The International Trade Commission sided with rival Oura in a patent dispute, effectively locking Ultrahuman out of the world's biggest consumer tech market.

It's a tough break for the Indian startup, which has been aggressively expanding its footprint in the increasingly crowded smart ring space. The Ring Pro represents a significant hardware upgrade, but the US ban puts a hard ceiling on its commercial potential.

For everyone outside the States, though, it's game on. Ultrahuman is betting that global demand can carry the product while it figures out its American problem.
