Flux Raises $37M to Bring AI to Circuit Board Design

Flux just pulled in $37 million to make designing printed circuit boards way less painful. The haul includes a $27 million Series B led by 8VC and a $10 million Series A.

The company builds an AI-powered platform for designing PCBs — the fundamental building blocks inside virtually every electronic device you own. It's a space that's been ripe for disruption, with engineers still relying on clunky legacy tools for complex board layouts.

Flux's founder Matthias Wagner has an unconventional origin story. Back in 2018, he was running a 100-person Burning Man camp called Hotel California. Now he's channeling that organizational energy into hardware design software.

The funding signals growing investor appetite for AI tools that target specialized engineering workflows rather than generic productivity. PCB design might not be glamorous, but it's everywhere — and that's exactly the point.
