Bezos' Project Prometheus Wants Tens of Billions to Scoop Up AI Casualties
Jeff Bezos is building a massive war chest to acquire companies getting steamrolled by artificial intelligence.
Jeff Bezos has a plan for all those businesses getting wrecked by AI: buy them.
His investment vehicle, Project Prometheus, is in active talks to raise tens of billions of dollars specifically to acquire companies disrupted by artificial intelligence. The entity hit a roughly $30 billion valuation back in November 2025 after pulling in $6.2 billion.
Now Prometheus is reportedly in fresh discussions with Abu Dhabi investors and JPMorgan to supersize the war chest. The strategy is straightforward — scoop up businesses that AI has battered and presumably reshape them.
It's a bold bet that AI disruption creates buying opportunities, not just wreckage. While most players are pouring cash into building AI, Bezos is positioning to profit from the fallout on the other side of the equation. The scale here is staggering, even by Bezos standards.
