UK Digital Bank Allica Hits Unicorn Status With $155M Raise

Allica Bank just joined Europe's unicorn club. The London-based digital bank pulled in $155M in Series D funding, pushing its valuation to $1.2B.

Ventura Capital led the round, joined by GLG, Sona AM, and existing backers TCV and Blue Owl. That's a serious vote of confidence in a bank built specifically for small and medium-sized businesses.

Allica currently serves over 30,000 SMBs across the UK — a market segment that traditional banks have historically underserved and fintechs have been racing to capture.

The fresh capital cements Allica as Europe's newest unicorn and one of the UK's standout fintech success stories. No word yet on exactly how the funds will be deployed, but at this scale, the playbook usually involves deeper product expansion and accelerated customer acquisition.
