Uber Builds Full-Stack Business Unit for Autonomous Vehicles

Uber just stood up an entirely new business unit dedicated to making autonomous vehicles commercially viable. It's called Uber Autonomous Solutions, and it's essentially a one-stop shop for AV operators.

The offering includes insurance, roadside assistance, fleet financing, and what Uber is calling "AV mission control" tools — presumably the software backbone needed to manage driverless fleets at scale.

The play here is straightforward. As more autonomous vehicle companies bring cars online, someone needs to handle the messy operational stuff. Uber is betting that someone should be them.

The company says the new operation will accelerate AV commercialization — helping partners get driverless cars on the road faster without building every support system from scratch.

It's a smart infrastructure bet. Instead of just running rides, Uber wants to be the platform layer that makes the entire autonomous ecosystem work.
