Waymo Eyes 1 Million Weekly Rides by End of 2026

Waymo is gunning for a major milestone. The Alphabet-owned autonomous driving company expects to surpass 1 million paid weekly robotaxi rides in the US by the end of 2026.

That's a significant jump from where things stand today. The company currently clocks around 400,000 paid rides per week across six US cities.

Co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana shared the projection, signaling Waymo's confidence in scaling its driverless fleet. The math works out to roughly 150% growth in weekly ride volume over the next year and a half.

For context, hitting seven figures in weekly rides would cement Waymo's position as the clear frontrunner in the commercial robotaxi race. While competitors stumble and pause operations, Alphabet's self-driving bet keeps quietly racking up real paying customers.
