PickNik and Motiv Team Up for NASA Space Robotics Mission

Two robotics companies join forces to build autonomous systems for NASA's in-space assembly project.

PickNik and Motiv Team Up for NASA Space Robotics Mission

NASA's got new partners for its ISAM mission. PickNik Robotics and Motiv Space Systems are teaming up to make robots do cool stuff in orbit.

The division of labor is clear. Motiv handles the hardware—building the actual robotic system that'll operate in space. PickNik brings the brains, developing motion planning and arm control software to make sure those robot limbs move with precision.

ISAM stands for In-Space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing. It's NASA's push to build and repair things directly in orbit rather than launching everything fully assembled from Earth.

For PickNik, this continues their streak of high-profile robotics software contracts. For Motiv, it's another notch in their space robotics portfolio. Together, they're betting that the future of space exploration runs on smarter, more capable robotic arms.
