Autodesk Sues Google Over 'Flow' Trademark in AI Video Tools Fight

Autodesk is taking Google to court over a name. The design software company filed a lawsuit alleging Google ripped off its 'Flow' trademark for an AI-powered filmmaking tool.

Both companies operate in the creative software space. Autodesk's Flow serves movie studios, TV producers, and video game developers. Google apparently launched a competing AI product using the exact same name.

Trademark disputes in tech aren't rare, but this one pits two heavyweight public companies against each other. Autodesk trades under ADSK.O while Google's parent Alphabet sits at GOOGL.O.

The lawsuit centers on alleged infringement in the AI-enabled creative tools market. Hollywood and gaming studios rely heavily on these products for production workflows.

Google hasn't publicly responded to the complaint yet. Courts will ultimately decide if the search giant needs to rebrand its AI filmmaking tool.
