Zoom Beats Q4 Revenue Estimates but Weak Profit Outlook Spooks

Zoom Communications just dropped a mixed earnings bag. Q4 revenue hit $1.25 billion, up 5.3% year-over-year and edging past the $1.23 billion analyst estimate. Online revenue climbed 2.6% to $489.7 million.

The good vibes stop there. Zoom's Q1 adjusted earnings-per-share forecast came in below what Wall Street was expecting, pointing to mounting competitive pressure in the video communications and collaboration space.

The company has spent the past few years trying to reinvent itself beyond pandemic-era video calling, pushing into contact centers, AI companions, and broader enterprise platforms. But the profit guidance suggests that transformation isn't cheap — and rivals aren't exactly standing still.

Revenue growth is steady if unspectacular. The real question is whether Zoom can protect its margins while fighting for enterprise relevance against deeply entrenched competitors.
