Blockchain.com Finally Lands UK Crypto License After 2022 Retreat

Blockchain.com is back in the UK's good graces. The Financial Conduct Authority has added the crypto company to its registry of licensed firms, marking a significant turnaround.

The company bailed on its first FCA application back in March 2022. Why? It couldn't secure approval before a looming deadline. Instead of fighting it out, Blockchain.com pivoted operations to Lithuania.

Now the London-based firm has completed what it started. Getting FCA registration isn't easy — the UK regulator has rejected or seen withdrawals from the majority of crypto firms seeking approval.

The license lets Blockchain.com legally operate crypto services for UK customers. It's a win for a company that had to take the long way around to crack its home market.
