Zoox Robotaxis Coming to Uber Starting Late 2026
Amazon's autonomous vehicle unit Zoox will let riders hail its robotaxis through the Uber app, kicking off in Las Vegas.
Amazon's self-driving subsidiary Zoox is teaming up with Uber to put its robotaxis on the ride-hailing giant's platform. The rollout begins in Las Vegas in late 2026, with Los Angeles following in 2027.
There's a catch, though. Zoox still needs federal approval in the US before any of this happens. No robotaxi, no ride — regulatory green light required.
The partnership marks another major ride-hailing platform embracing autonomous vehicles. Uber has been steadily building relationships with robotaxi operators after scrapping its own self-driving ambitions years ago.
For Amazon, the deal gives Zoox something it desperately needs: distribution. Building a robotaxi is hard. Getting people to actually use it is harder. Plugging into Uber's massive user base is the shortcut.
Whether regulators play ball on the timeline remains the billion-dollar question.
