Ukraine Races to Build Drones Without Chinese Parts
Ukraine is pushing hard to eliminate Chinese components from its military drone supply chain.
Ukraine is on a mission to strip Chinese components out of its drone manufacturing pipeline. The goal: full self-sufficiency in producing what has become the single most critical weapon on the modern battlefield.
Drones have reshaped the war in Ukraine, and Kyiv doesn't want its supply chain running through Beijing. The country is actively working to domestically source as many parts as possible, reducing dependency on cheaper Chinese-made components.
It's not easy. Chinese parts are abundant, affordable, and deeply embedded in global drone supply chains. Cutting them out entirely means higher costs and significant engineering workarounds.
But the strategic calculus is clear. Relying on a geopolitical wildcard for your most important battlefield technology is a vulnerability Ukraine can't afford. The push is less about tech nationalism and more about survival-grade logistics.
