Cisco Drops 3nm Chip to Challenge Broadcom and Nvidia in AI

Cisco just entered the AI infrastructure slugfest. The networking giant unveiled its Silicon One G300 switch chip on Tuesday, built on TSMC's bleeding-edge 3nm process technology.

The target? Broadcom and Nvidia's grip on the AI data center market.

The G300 is designed to move data faster through the massive data centers powering today's AI workloads. Cisco is also launching a new router alongside the chip to complete its play for enterprise AI infrastructure.

This is Cisco betting big on custom silicon to stay relevant as AI reshapes data center architecture. Broadcom and Nvidia have dominated this space, but Cisco's networking pedigree and 3nm manufacturing advantage could shake things up.

The AI infrastructure market is white-hot, and Cisco clearly doesn't want to watch from the sidelines.
